BlkCoral held their annual Jackson Pollock Workshop a while back and I was so excited to find out the venue was at The Honolulu Museum – Spalding House. The drive up to the Spalding House was nerve wrecking – for me. One windy road with distracting yet breath taking views, beautiful homes and a sharp right brings you to the smallest parking lot with no real parking spots. I’d love to write this whole post on the museum but I’ll plan another post on the Spalding House later. This particular post is about Blk Coral and this wonderful lady named Nikole who hosts this annual Jackson Pollock event for kids ages 4 and up. The kids are able to paint freely while the parents watch as their children let themselves go. Some are relatively neat and some, are covered in paint. This is our 2nd year doing this and it gets better each year. We also found out that Logan’s painting was chosen to be on display at the Spalding House’s annual benefit dinner. I’ll try to post photos of those later. It’s amazing to see that these paintings were done by children. I can’t wait to do this again next year!
