Cam and originally bought me tickets to the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra’s presentation of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in Concert. Coincidentally, the show was on the same night that I was scheduled to come back from LA. I damn near cried when I found out. Cam managed to change the ticket date/time for the following day and no tears were shed on my part. So fast forward to the afternoon of the event and despite being rushed, we made there with more than enough time. The show was amazing and one of the many things I love about Logan is that he has the patience and understanding of a full grown adult. He sat through the whole show, clapped during the right times and occasionally covered his eyes when the show got a little “scary”. When we were finished, he said that he liked it and it warmed my heart because he appreciated the music and the movie. I don’t know how Cam and I got so lucky with this kid. If you didn’t get the chance to see this show, you truly missed out. The movie was great – as usual – but the accompanying music just made it that much more spectacular. I’m so glad we were able to go.
I really encourage exposing children to the performing arts. I appreciate my family for bringing me to shows at the Orpheum and San Francisco Symphony and for also introducing me to varying types of music growing up. I hope that when Logan grows up he’ll be able to look back at this and appreciate his up bringing.
