Our friends were visiting from SF and we decided to check out the new Waikiki Yokocho which replaced the Waikiki Shopping Plaza. It’s similar to Ala Moana’s Shirokiya but on a much smaller scale. It’s also half occupied with an anticipated real opening of January 2017 so there weren’t that many places to check out. Nomu, the bar pictured above had Suntoryo Highballs and French fries so Cam and I (and Logan) were extremely happy to have walked in there. The service was great as well and as you can see, it’s somewhat kid friendly. I actually joked with my friend Chiara that raising kids in Hawaii is great because there were two kids under the age of 5 at this bar and no one was kicking us out. (No kids at the bar though lol.) After Nomu we walked over to Tonkotsu Kazan Ramen (known for their Volcano Ramen) and I wish that I could have eaten two meals because my friends curry rice bowl looked really good! I had the shiso ramen and it made me feel like I was back in Japan! No photos because Logan was watching Animal Mechanicals and I didn’t feel like having an argument with him. I will definelty come back to try more!
